The horses in our program have all come from a troubled home. It may be they were left in a pasture to fend for themselves or they may have been abused. These horses come from all over the state, and many will be arriving from local sherriff departments animal resue.

 

Not all horses in trouble can be helped. It is sad but not all horses can be saved. Usually older animals are the hardest to rehab. They could have serious medical problems or even cancer which many older horses have.

 

We have to screen any animal accepted in the program. We are going to only be able to place horses that have a great chance of being the horse of your dreams. We will screen for emotional and medical problems as best as we can. Should any animal not work out in his new home, we will help in any way we can.

 

 

 

 There are some requirements to adopt a horse. We will dicuss the mininum needs and will help you any way we can. We want to stress that one of our main requirements is that you keep us informed of it's progress. We want this adoption to be sucessful, if not we want to be there when you make a decision on the horses desposition.

 

ADOPTION FEES

 

#0   Typically baby horses or orphans        $199.00 to $249.00

           

#1   Typically a 2 year old or older gentle   $250.00 to $299.00

 

#2    Typically a riding horse  may be thin 

 very gentle                                                    $300.00 to $699.00

 

#3    Typically a very good riding horse

should have all its weight  very nice            $700.00 to $999.00

 

If the horse is boarded at Roman Forest Stables

all adoption fees will be paid by stable

He is then put up for adoption and is ready for the public.

 

Once you find the animal you like please let staff know and we can start our easy adoption process. Usually the horse will go home the same day. Please understand we are trying to find these horses homes, we will not hold any horse for any reason unless you put a deposit toward the adoption fee. The mininum deposit we can accept and hold the adoption is $200.00

 We do accept all magor credit cards!

 

We can deliver the horse to most anywhere for $2.00 per mile, one way. We also have a list of transporters to choose from and all of those companies are very professional.

Of course you may pick the horse up your self. If you have a trailer or one may be rented from a local rental agency.

We also have a barn trailer that may be rented to get your horse home. Rental on the trailer is $35.00 per day.

We cannot guarentee that any given horse will work in your situation but we will always be there to help you with the horse.
